– a little about ked –

I have lived in Houston, Texas since I was 2-years-old and I absolutely love it here!! In my humble opinion, HTX is just about the best.city.ever. I’ve always been very close with my family, especially my parents – they are literally the best role models a girl could ask for (s/o to Mike and Meegan!). I have two little sisters, Bailey (5 years younger than me) and Emily (11 years younger than me) (yes, 11 years!). Sooo much love for my family!!

I graduated from Texas A&M in 2012 where I studied English and was very active with (and obsessed with) the A&M waterski team. Texas A&M will always have a special place in my heart – I made some of my best friends while in College Station…AND I also met Oakley (aka the guy I wed), but we’ll get to him in just a bit.

After graduating, I spent almost 3 years at Chick-fil-A working in marketing and corporate training. Now, I work for my family’s company, Dunlap Marketing (remember when I said I was close with my fam?!). Working for my dad is amazing – I get to learn from someone who knows me and loves me. It’s truly a blessing!

Now, on to Oakley! We met our freshman year of college and became fast friends. Believe it or not, we were besties for SIX YEARS before we started dating! In hindsight, all signs pointed to us dating the 6ish months leading up to it. However, I can be a little hardheaded sometimes. I like to joke that he never actually *asked* me if I wanted to date him, it was more like he *TOLD* me we were going to date. Boy am I happy that he took that leap for me! A few months after dating, on November 26, 2014, he got down on one knee and I said YES!

One year later, on November 7, 2015, we became Mr. and Mrs. I can honestly say I married my best friend!

Now, we live in a 1-bedroom apartment in the middle of Houston – we love running, trying new restaurants (or sticking with our go-tos), wine, and obviously binge watching TV series.

– a little about the blog –

Ever since I was a young and awkward middle school kid, I’ve had a love for journaling. There’s something about getting my thoughts out of my head and into words that is very appealing and enjoyable.

To be completely honest, I have been struggling with anxiety for the past few years. While trying to understand my anxiety, I frequently find myself defaulting to my journal. This is where I first had the idea to start kedgotwed. And here we are now!

What can you expect to find at kedgotwed? Adventures, adventures, adventures! Because, after all, life is just one big adventure! And quite frankly, being a newlywed is one of my favorite adventures yet! Fashion, traveling, cooking/eating, exercising (because you have to exercise when you like to eat as much as I do), small apartment living, and fun things to do in Houston are just a few examples of topics you’ll stumble upon here.
