My favorite part of each week is Saturday morning. Waking up to a full day that doesn’t involve going to the office is the best! Since Oakley and I have gotten married, I’ve come to enjoy Saturday morning as “me time”. Oakley sleeps in, which allows me to spend my time a little more selfishly.

Being the busy, go-getting women most of us are, I think it’s very important to carve out time for ourselves each week. However, sometimes it’s hard to think of things to actually do during this time! Here are five of my favorite things to do for myself on a Saturday morning:

  1. go to an exercise class

    There’s nothing like starting out your weekend with a good sweat-sesh! Since I’ve been training to become a cycling instructor at Define Body & Mind, I almost always opt for a rev class (Define’s, rhythm-based cycling class). If cycling isn’t your thing, there are so many other options, though! Yoga, barre, Pilates, and kickboxing are all fun options!

  2. go for a walk

    If you want to get your blood flowing, but don’t want to commit to a whole exercise class, go for a walk! Enjoy the sounds of nature, or grab some music and headphones. Maybe venture somewhere that’s not on your daily travel routes – you never know what you might find! Also, if you have a dog, be sure to bring him/her along!!

  3. read a book

    If a Saturday morning workout isn’t your thing, you can opt to take a more relaxing approach. Curling up on the sofa or in bed with a good book is one of my favorite pastimes! Currently, I’m reading The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty. I’m totally loving it and can’t wait to get my hands on more of Liane’s books!

  4. take a relaxing shower

    When was the last time you took a relaxing shower and enjoyed the warm water and soap suds? Use your Saturday morning as an opportunity to soak up the steam! If you have a bath tub, even better! Consider grabbing a book and lounging in the tub for a while!

  5. drink a good cup of coffee or tea

    Add a delicious cup of coffee or tea to any of the above suggestions and you have a perfect combination! Make sure it’s something you really enjoy and get excited about! Monday-Friday coffee is good (and very necessary), but make your Saturday coffee GREAT and treat yourself a little bit!

  1. Saturday mornings are my favorites. I love snuggling on the couch with my favorite blanket and my husband. I also love that my husband makes my coffee for me on Saturday and Sunday mornings. That’s the best.
