friendsgiving recap

The holiday season is in full swing over here at the Cuevas apartment! Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving were both smashing successes! I truly love celebrating the holidays with family and friends! Yesterday, Oakley and I picked out our Christmas tree and I almost have all of our decorations up in the apartment!

Friendsgiving is such a fun occasion and I’m so happy the trend has caught on! Megan and I hosted our third annual Friendsgiving this year. Our tradition is to cook everything from scratch! We start in the morning and spend all day together. What better way to spend Friendsgiving than cooking with your best friend?!

[Okay, cooking and drinking wine… :)]

the food

This year, we decided to add a signature cocktail to our menu. However, when we started looking up festive cocktails, we couldn’t decide on JUST one…so we had two – ha! Check out our whole spread:

Appetizers: Creamy bruschetta with cherry tomatoes and basil*, Sparkling Pomegranate Mimoas

[Have you ever had a cocktail with rosemery in it? If not, you need to try it out!]

Main Course: Homemade Pizzas, Homemade Caesar Salad

Dessert: Pumpkin Spice Buttermilk Cupcakes with Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting, Bailey’s served over Coffee Ice Cubes

[How cute are these cupcake toppers?! I got them from Williams Sonoma!]

the friends

We invited a few of our good friends to join in the festivities. There were seven of us total, eight including Hattie…and ten including the dogs! It was a full house! Seven was a good number for us, but honestly, we had enough food to feed twice as many!

To me, friends are a huge part of our lives and it’s important to celebrate the holidays with them. I’m so thankful for all of my friends, especially those who we celebrated Friendsgiving with! Life just wouldn’t be the same without them!

Did you celebrate Friendsgiving this year? If so, what fun things did you do?!

Lots of love – ked

  1. I have been dying to host a Friendsgiving for years, it looks like so much fun! Glad you had such a fun experience. And you can never have enough cocktails 🙂

    1. Hey Carly! We found the mimosa recipe on Pinterest! I’ve actually played around with the recipe a few times since Friendsgiving. I found that if you use Pomegranate Italian Soda (I buy it at Central Market or HEB, but not sure if they have those stores in NC!) it’s even yummier!

      Thanks for stopping by!
