let’s get to know each other

I’d like to start out by saying THANK YOU!! Kedgotwed has had the most views in January since I started it about 5 months ago! So, thank you to everyone who has stopped by to read a post or two – I truly appreciate it 🙂 With some new traffic coming on board, it seems like a good idea to have a “let’s get to know each other” post! I’m going to do my best to share some different things than what I have on the about page!

These types of posts are always more fun with your engagement! Please share some things about yourself in the comments below! I’d LOVE to get to know you a little better as well!

i’m a morning person

Now, I’m not just saying I’m a morning person to sound cool, I really mean it! When my alarm goes off, I’m up and out of bed. And it doesn’t matter what time it is either – if I’m exercising before work, I set my alarm for 5:00 AM; if I’m waking up for a normal work morning, my alarm is set for anywhere between 6:00-6:10 AM. ILOVEMORNINGS!! If I sleep in too much, I truly feel like I’m missing out on my day.

Even on the weekends, I love waking up early. Starting my Saturday out with a spin class or run followed up by a latte and QT with Oakley and Guppy is my definition of a perfect morning!

i used to hate coffee…

…but now i’m obsessed with it! It’s so funny to think back on “pre-coffee-drinking-Kaitlin”. I must have been a PIA (pain in the ass 🙂 ) to deal with in the mornings! My gateway to becoming a true coffee drinker was with iced coffee – I would put gobs of Splenda and vanilla flavoring in it, but I loved that stuff! Now, although I still put Splenda in my coffee each morning, I’ve settled into a nice routine of coffee with milk and a little Splenda. But not just any coffee – just ask Oakley how picky I am about the coffee we buy!! I can be a real snob about it sometimes (okay, maybe all of the time)! Right now, my favorite is a the French Roast from the bulk section at Whole Foods…thanks to my dad!

[I love coffee a latte 😉 Ignore the fact they wrote “Kathlen” on my cup – ha!]

i have anxiety

One of the main reasons I started kedgotwed was to help me have an outlet for my anxiety. Since I’ve started blogging more/engaging with other bloggers, I’ve come to realize that I am not alone in this! There are so many other bloggers out there who also struggle with anxiety.

I’m lucky that I’ve found a routine that helps me deal with my anxiety; however, not everyone is as lucky as me. I know exactly what it’s like to feel out of control, have tingly fingers, an accelerated heart-beat, and the inability to take a deep breath. I know what it feels like to have NO idea why you’re feeling anxious, to try to calm yourself down, but somehow it just seems to get worse.

If anxiety is something that is also part of your life, I would love to chat about it! I have found that being open about my anxiety has helped me get it under control. And I PROMISE you that you are NOT alone!!

i’m training to become a spin instructor

This one is big for me! For almost two years, I’ve been going to DEFINE body & mind, a exercise studio that offers classes such as rev (spin), body (barre), and mind (yoga). Needless to say, I fell in love with the rev classes and I’m 100% an addict!

Long story short, if you know anything about me, you know that I’m 1) very into my personal health/fitness and 2) love helping people with their health/fitness. Because of this, the idea of becoming an instructor at DEFINE was something that always sounded appealing to me!

However, for the longest time, my anxiety held me back. I worried what would happen if I got in front of a class and had a panic attack – unfortunately, this thought kept me from even applying to become an instructor. I was secretly disappointed in myself for letting my anxiety prevent me from doing something I truly wanted to do. Then, one day I finally said “eff it”! One of my favorite instructors helped me film my audition video, I filled out the application, and sent it all in.

At that point, I was so proud of myself for finally standing up to my anxiety that I didn’t even care if I was accepted or not! Luckily, I was accepted, and that made me even happier!! Like I said, I’m at a much better place with my anxiety now – the fear of having a panic attack in front of a class is no longer something that concerns me.

I’ll keep y’all posted when my training is finished and I’m officially instructing my own classes!

i knew nothing about blogging before i started kedgotwed

I saved the best for last – when I say I knew nothing about blogging before I started kedgotwed, I really mean I knew NOTHING! Haha! It makes me laugh! I’m having a blast learning about blogging and building kedgotwed into something that I love…and something that I hope you all love too!

There’s so much about the blogging world that excites me. The sky is the limit and I love it! There are endless opportunities if you work hard and are dedicated to your blog. I wish I could express in words how encouraging that feeling is!!

Alrighty, enough about me! Now it’s your turn – I’d love to get to know you! Please share in the comments below!

Lots of love – ked

  1. I have been going through your blog, your grandpa would be so so proud of you Kaitlin. As a kid I journaled every day. I probably have at least 10 years of journals around here and he loved that I did it. We used to talk about my love of writing and at one time I wanted to pursue writing as a career, but, insecurities and other issues kept me from doing it. Super proud of you Kaitlin and I am sure he is up in heaven reading your posts. I know you are taking a break from blogging this summer but I will look forward to your posts in the fall ?

    1. Aunt Patti – Thank you so, soooo much for this!!! Sometimes it feel like “is anyone out there actually reading these posts?!” but you’re so right, Uhuh is in heaven reading them!! 🙂 🙂 Love you so much! Sending lots of hugs and kisses!
