To be honest with you, I had originally planned on doing a post about fall date ideas. Fall officially starts on FRI-YAY and I know many of us are ready for the season of all things pumpkin. However, I just couldn’t find the motivation to write about fall dates. Don’t worry – it has nothing to do with not wanting to do fun fall dates with Oakley (if you’re reading this, I LOVE YOU, OAKLEY!!) and everything to do with it feeling like I was being a little fake.
With fall just around the corner, all of the bloggers are posting fall recipes, fall outfits, fall bucket lists, etc. And have you checked out Pinterest lately? Fall is literally everywhere! While I’m super stoked for cool weather, pulling out my scarves and riding boots, and decorating for my favorite season of the year, I am just NOT in the mood to write about it! There are so many other things going on in my life that are taking up my brain power – plus, it’s still a hot and humid 91 degrees over here in Houston! So, yeahhh, not really feeling the fall vibe right now. I have no doubt in a week or two you’ll see a post on KGW about loads of fun, romantic fall date ideas…but not today.
what i’m saying is…stay true to yourself
And guess what, that’s a-okay! I want to encourage each of you to stay true to yourself! My current feelings toward writing a fall inspired post is just a small example. The truth is, staying true to yourself isn’t always easy. We all have trials every day that attempt to pull us farther away from the person we want to be. Challenge yourself to stand strong and be YOU! I promise you will never regret staying true to yourself.
Yes, this is much easier said than done, but so worth it in the long run. In fact, being the true you is way less complicated than putting up a facade! Think of all the energy you’ll save just by being YOU! It’s kinda funny to think about it that way, isn’t it?
So, be sure to stay tuned for upcoming posts all about fall (and if you’re dying for something now, here are a few from last year – fall outfits, fall bucket list, friendsgiving and thanksgiving outfits). But for now, thank you for indulging with me in my spur of the moment thoughts on staying true to yourself!
What are your thoughts on staying true to yourself? Do you have any tips / suggestions on how you stay true to YOU?
